Yeah I did that back in August, but why? So years back I was reading/listening to Skeptoid and the topic came up on fad diets that do not work. However, he brought up the Big Mac diet, which is a real thing. Compared to popular fad diets the difference is the big mac diet actually works. Really, but wasn’t there a documentary on eating McDonald’s for a month, and the results were terrible?
Super Size Me. A fake documentary created by the fraud Morgan Supurlock.
Anyone who can do basic math can figure out he was lying in the documentary. 5000 calories a day! How? He never kept a food log tracking what he was eating, but made crazy claims. Many people recreated his diet and never matched his results. He claimed he gained 20 pounds, felt tired and sluggish, and well he couldn’t get erections anymore. Watch the better documentary Fat Head to learn more about this.
So with all of this information and the Big Mac diet I gave myself a challenge. On August 5th I started a cheeseburger diet. The rules go as followed
1. 2-3 Cheeseburgers a day.
2. All sandwiches come fully loaded (tomato onion, lettuce, pickles, hot peppers etc)
3. NO SIDES
4. NO SODA
5. No other foods.
6. Bun is optional
7. Gimmick burgers are excepted.
8. Keep a food log
9. Be creative. I say that because most of these will and should be prepared at home.
I did a lot of research on food before I started. I learned from many doctors and experts. I realized the burger diet was turning into a low carb/calorie counting diet. (No one I learned from was talking about a cheeseburger diet)
I was very curious about the results especially since I suffer from gout and red meat is not great for that. I made sure I bought the grass fed beef since it was suppose to be healthier. I also ate at many burger places in town, ranking and rating them as I went.
The first week: Hell! My body was not used to eating so less. I was constantly hungry and filled up on water to try to cease it. I learned in low carb situations bacon can be your best friend. So I fried a bunch up and applied to every burger. My digestive system was a wreck and I wasn’t sure if this was going to work.
The Second Week: alright my body adjusted and everything started working well. The burgers I made were delicious and the midwest burger chains were Devine. (Steak N Shake, Culvers) to keep up with Super Size Me I also took in McDonald’s, and went farther with Burger King, Wendy’s, and Hardee’s.
The Third Week: I began to grow tired of burgers but I held strong by eating gimmick burgers like westerns, Big Mac’s, Whopper juniors, Baconators, and Nacho Burgers. (My homemade pizza burgers were failures) I was also taking the toppings, chopping them up and threw a burger in top for a sorta burger salad. (Amazing)
The fourth and final week: impatient. Craving for pasta and tacos were real. French fries and chips were dancing around my brain and the burgers were becoming tasteless, but I kept my composure and trekked on!
Finally it was over and this is what I learned over the experience.
1. I slept weird (nothing new to me) However I would wake with a couple hours of sleep and not sluggish, ready to take on the world.
2. Happier and not nearly as stressed even with the bad days of work.
3. I lost 12 pounds.
4. I felt young, like teenage young. So Morgan Spurlock there must be something wrong with him because my sex organs were at full function bro!
5. Before the diet I had been on medication for my gout to keep the flare ups at bay, but they could still happen and my knee was always a bit sore, so were my feet. During the diet I never got a flare up, and even my knee and feet that still felt sore and weak healed. My knee is strong again and my feet feel normal again. I’m not sure if that is a true result but it did happen.
In the end I learned that eating 62 Cheeseburgers did have many health benefits. I know it’s not super healthy with sodium and etc, but I did feel great for the most part. When you look at everything, I was eating an average of 1400 calories a day, with lots of veggies and red meat. What I learned from the experience is that eating habits come down to self control. Do you really need fries and a soda with that monster thick burger? Perhaps the burger is all you need. So the next time you have fast food and you worry about your health, make smart choice and enjoy that burger. There is nothing to fear! It’s just food.
Also Morgan Spurlock has sexual assault allegations against him so he can just go fuck off with his flaccid dick.
